Kathryn Lyn
Kathryn is a two-time Hugo Award nominee, currently working as a Co-Executive Producer on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (Paramount+). She has sold multiple horror, sci-fi, and comedy pilots to CBS Studios, Paramount, A+E Studios, and Freeform.
Kathryn first landed in LA as a teenage runaway with a notebook full of hand-written comic book fan fiction, which she assumed someone would want to turn into movies. They did not.
After moving back to rural Michigan, Kathryn buckled down and got a real education—by working at a video store while taking community college writing classes at night. Following a stint at Second City in Chicago, she returned to Los Angeles and eventually became a feature film Development Executive while privately pursuing a career as a genre TV writer.Â
Kathryn sold her first TV spec pilot to Paramount, followed by multiple pitch sales to Freeform, A+E Studios, and CBS/CBS Studios.
She has spent the past five seasons writing across the Star Trek franchise, including Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Section 31, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, where she is currently a Co-Executive Producer and was recently nominated for her second Hugo Award.
She’s also written TV projects for Blumhouse and Netflix, and has multiple pilots in both horror and comedy in development.
