Frequently Asked Questions

If your question isn’t answered below, by all means contact us at info@scriptanatomy.com.

1) Do I have to take Televisionary or Pilot Boot Camp first?

Yes. Both of these classes do a deep dive on the signature Script Anatomy Tools. It’s crucial you understand the tools and the language of the school in order to successfully navigate the other classes. We occasionally make exceptions for students with lots of experience. Please email Mariyam with your request at Mariyam@scriptanatomy.com

2) I’m not sure which class to start with or to take next?

Check out this flow chart, it should help!

3) I want to take a class, but don’t know which instructor to choose?

All of our instructors have current credits, teach a consistent curriculum and will be able to assist you with your project. But if you’re looking for something specific please look through all the instructors’ bios and choose the writer’s credits that best match your idea.

4) Do I need a Zoom account to take classes with you?

No. The instructor will send you a Zoom link before the start of the class and it can be accessed without a personal Zoom account.

5) What is your refund policy?

All sales are final. No refunds. A transfer request 45+ days before the 1st day of class will be honored, but the class must be selected within five business days of transfer request. View our full refund policy here.

6) Can I transfer to a later session?

If your request falls within our cancellation policy window, then yes. We treat transfers the same as cancellations.

7) Do I get a refund if the class I signed up for changes instructors?

All Script Anatomy instructors are working writers, so sometimes career opportunities arise that prohibit them from teaching. A change of instructor does not qualify you for a refund unless that refund falls under our normal refund rules.

8) Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. Half the payment is required to reserve your spot in class and the second payment is due two weeks before the class begins. Please keep in mind that a lot of our classes begin two weeks before you actually meet.

9) When is my Welcome Email coming from the instructor?

Depending on the class, your email will come 1-2 weeks before your first class. For Televisionary, Pilot Boot Camp, Pitch Lab, TV Spec and Pilot Draft Intensive it will come no later than one-week before it starts. For the TV Pilot Labs, Structure lab, Spec Lab and Rewrite Lab it will come no later than two weeks before your first class.

10) What will I accomplish by the end of each class?

Televisionary: First draft of an outline.

Pilot Boot Camp: First draft of a script.

TV Spec & Draft Intensive: First draft of a script.

TV Pilot Lab Drama: First draft of a script.

TV Pilot Lab Comedy: First draft of a script.

Spec Lab: First draft of a script.

Structure Lab: Fully realized beat sheet.

Rewrite Lab: Second draft of a script.

Pilot Pitch Lab: First draft of a pitch document.

Feature Development Lab: First draft of an outline.

11) Do you offer scholarships?

We have collaborated with certain groups to offer scholarships (The Inevitable Foundation and the Latina TV Writers Group Assistants) and we are working on new opportunities.
