Tim Saccardo

Tim is currently an Executive Producer on Universal Basic Guys (Fox). Other TV comedy credits include Dan Harmon’s Community (NBC), Seth MacFarlane’s American Dad (TBS), and HBO’s Vice Principals starring Danny McBride.

A graduate of the Writers Guild’s Showrunner Training Program, Tim created the animated pilot Car Sandwich: Time Fugitive for Adult Swim, and was an Executive Producer/showrunner on the Fox pilot Ocean Village. Neither of those shows were ordered to series because executives feared they were too funny and viewers might injure themselves laughing, leading to costly lawsuits.

His first industry job was as an intern for the NBC affiliate in Providence, RI. This invaluable experience taught him that the kind of TV shows he wanted to write weren’t actually made in Rhode Island. So he moved to Los Angeles and spent way too much time at Hollywood’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, writing and directing countless comedy shows including the monthly Sketch Cram and the innovative talk show What’s Going On? with Mike Mitchell, which was also shot as a TV pilot for FX.

He also wrote and directed dozens of videos for the theatre, one of which won him a coveted Stony Award from High Times Magazine. The awards ceremony was exactly what you think it would be like.

Testimonials

Tim’s Punch-Up class was AWESOME! Out of all the classes I’ve taken at UCB, Second City and of course Script Anatomy, it’s definitely one of my favorites. Easy to recommend to everyone I know. I was honestly sad when it was over.

I took Tim’s first Script Anatomy class and walked away with a durable first draft of new project because of his comedic background. And I’d gladly take another class with him if my schedule would allow. I just can’t find a Script Anatomy instructor that I don’t like! A stellar roster.

I loved Tim’s punch-up class. It was incredibly helpful and TIm’s a truly sharp, helpful, and exceedingly qualified teacher. Hope he keeps teaching more!
