TV Draft Intensive

Sep 22 to Oct 20— Sundays, 10am – 1pm (PT)

Instructor: Spiro Skentzos

Have an outline for a TV spec script or pilot that you want to take to draft? Or a draft that needs to be rewritten? Maybe you’ve taken our Televisionary class and want deadlines and feedback as you head into the draft?

The TV Spec/Pilot Draft Intensive is a structured 3 session class designed for writers who have a completed script outline and are ready to write their draft. You will get that unfinished project written and polished while reviewing core structure and other key elements.

It begins with a pre-class prep week in which you hand in your outline and read a comedy or drama script chosen by the instructor. In Week One you receive notes on your outlines from your peers and the instructor. In Weeks Two and Three, you receive notes on the first and second halves of your scripts, while reviewing core elements like structure, dynamic relationships and so on.

If you have a draft that needs to be rewritten, or you just want deadlines and feedback as you head into draft, this course will help. You’ll get that unfinished project written and polished while reviewing core structure and other key elements.

For a student’s perspective see Hannah Rosner’s testimonial video.

Classes cover: Structure / Act Outs / Set up / Character Development / Strengthening Dynamic Relationships / Amping up Conflict/ Stakes / Deepening Emotion and/or Comedy / Scene Techniques + In Class Exercises.

Required: Televisionary or equivalent experience.

Testimonial: I have heard about Script Anatomy for years but have never taken a class. I even follow Tawnya on social media. One of my yearly goals was to take a class to work on my limited series pilot to get it into shape. When I enrolled in the class, I was relieved to know that I would achieve another goal for the year. When I started the course, I was already familiar with drama writing however, the information and the tools given were extremely helpful. Working with Spiro was great because he eagerly and effectively answered all of my questions. I feel even more confident in writing a pilot now and would definitely take another class.— Anthony McBride
