Feature Rewrite Lab

The next logical class after Feature Development Lab and Feature Draft Intensive.
Writing is rewriting, and this is the place to do it. The first four weeks will be guided classes in which the instructor and your peers will offer honest notes on your material and help you hone the key elements of your project. Notes will be given on the writer’s first 15 pages of their screenplay to which they will have applied the lessons and techniques, except one week where writers will get notes on their relationship progression tool.
Classes cover: You’ll learn techniques to fine tune all aspects of your script, from structure to character development, to dialogue and scene work. Then, you’ll have 3 weeks off to rewrite your script and hand it in. The class will meet for a fifth and final session, after which writers will receive detailed, written feedback from the instructor on their entire script.
Prep work is a brief elevator pitch of the writer’s project that the writer will share in class on the first day.
Requirements: Before class begins, writers must have a completed draft of a feature script that they wish to rewrite. Our Feature Development Lab & Feature Draft Intensive courses are prerequisites.
