TV Pilot Lab (Comedy)
Feb 22 to Apr 18 — Wednesdays, 6:30pm-9:30pm (PDT)
Instructor: Marc Warzecha
You need at least one exceptional original pilot to break into the business.
The TV Comedy Pilot Lab is a 6-week intensive course that is run like a professional writers’ room. It requires 2 weeks of prep before class begins.
Using Script Anatomy tools, you will develop, outline and write your TV comedy pilot script at a pace expected in the TV industry. Instructor Marc Warzecha is a multiple-time Head Writer and Director with Second City, wrote for Detroiters (Comedy Central) & Disney Digital.
All class members are required to devote time to homework, writing and reading other classmates’ work to provide feedback. They are expected to actively participate in the development and story breaking process each week. In a professional writers’ room, you must participate if you want to keep your job! Working this muscle will benefit you.
This is an advanced class that prepares you for your first job writing for TV. As our alumni attest, the experience is invaluable.
Required: Televisionary or equivalent experience.
Testimonial: “Marc is such an outstanding instructor. Before taking his Televisionary class, I struggled to make sense of any of the ideas rolling around in my head but Marc guides you through every part of the process with patience and encouragement. I can’t recommend him enough!” — Rob Stauffer
