Televisionary is the foundation of the Script Anatomy Curriculum. An intensive 5-week course that is perfect for both new and working writers who want to elevate their scripts by applying Script Anatomy’s unique tools.
*Whatever your level—and whether you’re working on a TV spec or an original pilot—this course will help you advance.*
Your instructor will guide you through the Script Anatomy tools, a tried and tested process of crafting your script from concept to outline. Each week, you will receive lectures about the tools, and then a corresponding assignment in which you will apply those tools to your own project. And you will receive weekly peer feedback and instructor critique, providing you with an honest evaluation of your material in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Like all Script Anatomy courses, it’s highly applicable and hands-on, and it prepares you for life as a professional writer. All of our successful alumni have taken this course, many of them several times.
Tier 1 students receive peer feedback and instructor critique each week, providing them with a constructive evaluation of their material in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Tier 2 students students only attend lectures but receive no feedback on their projects, nor do they see Tier 1 students’ feedback.
All students will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A at the end of each class. And if for any reason you can’t make the online class live, you can watch the video recording at your convenience.
Classes cover: Hooks/Concepts / Arena / Loglines & Pitching / TV Story Structure / Strong Act Outs / Tone & Genre Expectation / Character Development / Dynamic Relationships / Conflict and Obstacles / Dilemmas & Goals / Stakes / Theme
Testimonial(s): “I came to Script Anatomy very green, having never written a script. Frankly, my confidence was pretty low, and I was super unsure of my ability to write an entire screenplay. Then I entered Cole’s TV Pilot Lab with a script I’d worked on in a previous class. Not only were Cole’s classes engaging, but his notes were also detailed and thoughtful. So after my first TV pilot class with him, I decided to invest in a private consult. Again, his notes not only helped make my script better, but he gave me advice on what I should be reading (any pilot I could get my hands on) and doing to continue to learn the craft of screenwriting. As a result, I submitted my first pilot ever to the Austin Film Festival, and it made it into the second round of the contest. I have since taken another class with Cole to work on my second pilot and recently followed up our class with another private consult. He is truly someone who brings out the best in you with notes that make you better as a writer, and I am grateful that I’ve been able to learn so much from him on this new journey.” — Bianca Lambert
