Lucas BrownEyes

Lucas’s Indian name is “Wawo Yaca Wicasa” which is Lakota for “the story teller. So, destiny may be working a little on his side.

Lucas BrownEyesLucas Brown Eyes is a Native American TV writer and comedian from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, the Oglala Sioux tribe in particular. He was raised by his mother, grandmother and aunt along with two brothers and three cousins. They all lived in the same house because his mother always instilled in him that strong family values are the Lakota way. But he secretly suspected that it was because they were poor.

What his family lacked in money they made up for in support. And in 2003 their support reached crazy levels when they moved to California so Lucas could study Film & Television at Orange County High School of the Arts. He went on to become an award-winning filmmaker and graduate from USC with a B.A. in Cinema-Television Production.

In 2014 he was accepted into the ABC-Disney Writing Program. Since then he staffed on over 100 episodes of television, including Young & Hungry (Freeform), Alexa & Katie (Netflix), and KC Undercover on Disney Channel. He has sold shows to Fox and PBS, and currently has the first Native American Family comedy in development at 20th Century Fox.

He is repped by APA and 3Arts and you can find him on Twitter @LucasBrownEyes.
