Debra Moore Munoz
An LA native, Debra Moore Muñoz found solace in the stories of books and theater throughout her tumultuous childhood.
Her early love of theater morphed into a passion for filmmaking in high school. After spending time writing and producing independent films in Portland, Oregon, Debra moved to New York where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Columbia University.
Upon returning to Los Angeles, she worked in film development, amassing credits on films such as Exodus Gods & Kings, The Heat and St. Vincent. From there, she transitioned to her true passion: television — working on Seasons One and Two of Westworld. In 2019, her script Refuge was selected for the esteemed Black List. She joined the writing staff of Mayans MC in its first season and most recently served as co-executive producer in its fourth season.
She has an overall deal with FX and currently has two pilots in development with FX and one with Netflix.
